Music for Wellness Series
The TENG Company began its exploration of music for wellness and mental health with Music for Mindfulness, an innovative album that incorporates binaural beats technology to help reduce stress and anxiety. Building on this research-driven approach, TENG later developed Music for Comfort, which integrates 40Hz monaural beats within original Chinese instrumental music to support individuals experiencing grief and emotional loss. Together, these projects demonstrate TENG’s commitment to advancing wellness-focused music, sound therapy, and mindful listening experiences that promote relaxation, emotional healing, and mental wellbeing.
Music for Mindfulness
Music for Mindfulness is an innovative wellness project by that combines music and science to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Developed over two years in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Health and Social Sciences Department, the project blends TENG’s signature East–West musical style with binaural beat technology and principles inspired by traditional Chinese music therapy. The resulting album features instrumental music embedded with a dynamic progression of binaural beats – from theta to delta brainwave frequencies – designed to support psychological calm and lower physiological stress. The album has been distributed to various beneficiaries and organisations, extending its reach as a resource for mindfulness, comfort, and mental wellness.
Music for Comfort
Music for Comfort is a pioneering album by The TENG Company created in collaboration with Direct Funeral Services and supported by research from the Singapore Institute of Technology. Blending original Chinese instrumental compositions with monaural beat technology, the project explores how music can support emotional healing and provide comfort during times of grief. Developed in consultation with music therapists the album is designed to help regulate emotional responses, reduce anxiety, and create space for reflection and remembrance. Music for Comfort offers a calming musical companion for individuals navigating loss and life’s difficult transitions, while reflecting TENG’s ongoing commitment to innovation and meaningful social impact.
