Charmaine Tan
Member of the Programme Sub-Committee
Charmaine Tan is Deputy Director (Healthy Ageing) at the Agency for Integrated Care, where she leads the development of evidence‑informed activities that support older adults across the health spectrum to enhance wellbeing and quality of life. Her work also spans cultivation of cross‑sector collaborations, bridging health with the arts, heritage, sport, and early childhood sectors.
She has a longstanding interest about the impact of arts modalities on health and has spent more than a decade catalysing these arts‑health intersections. A current collaboration with the National Arts Council and SingHealth Community Hospital will see the development of an arts for wellbeing framework by 2027. She also engages widely on arts and health, most recently at the inaugural Healing Arts Singapore, organised in collaboration with the World Health Organisation. Her projects have also been recognised internationally, including the International Committee for Education and Cultural Action (ICOM‑CECA).
Prior to her present role, Charmaine worked extensively in communications – including as an award‑winning editor – and in the charities and arts sectors.
She is a recipient of multiple National Arts Council arts bursaries and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Drama, specialising in Technical and Production Management, from the Academy of the Arts, Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and a Master of Arts in Communications from Bond University, Australia. In 2024, she received the Pingat Kepujian (Commendation Medal), National Day Award from the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore.
