Jade Lai

Ms Jade Lai 黎颖瑜 is the founder and director of the arts agency Springtime Communications and Analytics Pte. Ltd. The agency provides one-stop solutions to arts groups and arts brands in capacity-building, fund-raising, marketing research, and international touring.
Over the past three years, Springtime Communications has curated and coordinated sold-out shows at Singapore’s Esplanade, Kreta Ayer Theatre, Bangkok’s Aksra Theatre, Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and Hurstville in Sydney.
Springtime has also worked with arts troupes and artists such as the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra 香港中樂團, Sing Fai Cantonese Opera Association 聲輝粵劇推廣協會, Liza Wang 汪明荃 and Law Ka Ying 羅家英’s Boomabliss Cantonese Opera 福陞粵劇團, Yat-Fung 林一峰 (a.k.a. Chet Lam) and his band, veteran music producer and songwriter Hei Chiu 趙增熹, singer-songwriter and music producer Vicky Fung 馮穎琪, world harmonica champion Gorden Lee 李俊樂, Berlin-based soprano Vivian Yau 邱芷芊, and renowned TV theme song composer Alan Cheung 張家誠.
Currently, Jade is a radio program host at Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) for the weekly interview program 夢想號啟航 (Let Your Dreams Set Sail). Her interviews are regularly co-featured in the Hong Kong Economic Times (香港經濟日報).
Jade is a Rhodes Scholar (Oriel, 2000) who graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master of Philosophy degree in Sociology. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree (First Class Honours) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Sociology with double minors in Psychology and French.
Before relocating to Singapore, Jade served as a ministerial-level aide in the Hong Kong SAR Government from 2013 to 2021. She worked closely with the then Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung and Mr Stephen Sui, as well as the then Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong Wah and Mr Caspar Tsui. She provided strategic advice and hands-on assistance across a wide range of policy portfolios, including arts and culture, youth, sports development, charity, family, women, children, and elderly services.
Prior to her government service, Jade held directorate positions at leading Hong Kong think tanks — namely the Hong Kong United Foundation and the Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre — and lectured at various tertiary institutions, including the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Shantou University. She also worked in the Asia Bureau of British TV news agency ITN, covering news stories in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
