Dr Daniel Seah

Board Member

Daniel is a law lecturer and legal scholar. His research on treaties is published internationally, in high impact journals such as the International & Comparative Law Quarterly and Chinese Journal of International Law. Daniel’s research has been used by the European Commission in its report on the European Union’s external relations with ASEAN, and also as teaching materials at universities in Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Before joining academia, Daniel acted as a legal counsel at a shipping firm. He advised the firm’s NYSE-listed clients on the legal and regulatory aspects of commissioning oil rigs in Singapore. Daniel directed the firm’s compliance with anti-bribery laws in relation to the firm’s offshore clients. He established a standard policy for the firm’s transnational business conduct and ethics, in accordance with the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and United Kingdom Bribery Act.

Daniel studied at the universities of Durham and Birmingham, and completed his PhD in law at UCL (University College London) in the United Kingdom. He is admitted as an advocate & solicitor of the Singapore Supreme Court.
